CCTV image released following violent attack

Detectives have released a CCTV image of two men they would like to trace following an assault in which a man was viciously beaten.

Shortly after 3am on Saturday 26 September 2009, the 23-year-old victim was with his friends when he was attacked on Kay Gardens, Bury.

Three men launched a vicious and unprovoked attack, causing injuries to the victim’s nose and head.

The victim remembers nothing of the attack.

Detective Inspector Lynne Vernon, of Bury CID, said: "This man was left with nasty facial injuries.

“It is vital we trace who was responsible. I’d urge people to look at the CCTV image and if you know who either of those men are, contact us.

"Please call us if you know the identity of any of offenders or if you witnessed the incident."
