Go digital with library help
Date published: 29 September 2009
The telly digital switchover happens in November, and Bury Council is keen that no one is left with a blank screen.
Staff from Bury library service and customer services can help people who may have difficulty switching to digital on their own, due to disability, social isolation or other factors.
They attended a training session about the national Government scheme which is being run by the BBC. They can now let customers know if they qualify for assistance under the scheme, provide an information leaflet and contact details about the digital switchover.
To check if you are eligible, visit your local library or customer services desk. Alternatively, phone the Freephone number 0800 408 5900 or visit the help scheme website http://helpscheme.co.uk/
