Partners party in Prestwich

Date published: 28 September 2009

What facts can you remember about the last ten years in Prestwich?

That’s the fun challenge awaiting visitors to Thursday’s (Oct 1) meeting of the Prestwich Local Area Partnership.

It was ten years ago that the local area boards were set up in the borough, now known as LAPs.

To mark the occasion, there will be a mini-quiz about Prestwich at the meeting, and the winner will receive a £20 gift token to be spent at Prestwich Christmas Farmers Market.

The meeting starts at 6.30pm at Butterstile Primary School, School Grove, Prestwich.

On the agenda is a report about the recent Big Clean in Prestwich, while Inspector Jane Little will be talking about domestic violence and how victims are supported.

Finally, plans for Heys Road safety scheme will also be discussed.

Councillor Vic D’Albert, chair of Prestwich LAP, said: “I think that we’ve achieved a lot over the last ten years, so that’s worth a celebration.”
