Local lad wins special Library prize

Date published: 18 June 2009

John Robinson, a pupil at St. John’s Primary School, has scooped the monthly prize for May in a monthly prize draw competition at Radcliffe Library.

Over 80 children entered the competition and John’s name was picked out. The prize draw forms part of the Radcliffe is Reading Project, which is funded through Radcliffe Local Area Partnership.

Councillor Yvonne Creswell, Executive Member for Community Relations and User Focus, said “It’s part of a local scheme to encourage young people to read on a regular basis and encourage them to make more use of what is available for young people at Radcliffe library.”

The competition is open to all young library members who live or go to school in the Radcliffe area or use Radcliffe Library. All they need to do is just borrow eight books to have their name entered in the Free monthly prize draw and they can enter as many times as they like so long as they borrow books.

For more information on all library services check our website www.bury/gov.uk/libraries for details about the competition telephone Radcliffe Library 0161 253 7160.
