Call for volunteers for the Love Prestwich Festival Big Clean

As part of Love Prestwich Festival a Big Clean has been organised for Saturday 13 June at Drinkwater Park, Rainsough Brow, in partnership with Orange RockCorps.

Orange RockCorps is a national campaign which encourages individuals to give four hours of their time to an Orange RockCorps community project in their area. In return, participants get a ticket to an exclusive gig at Manchester Apollo on 13 July featuring Lady Gaga and N-DUbz.

Love Prestwich Festival organisers are calling on local people to volunteer to be part of the Big Clean Team. Volunteers will be helping with painting, fencing & barriers works, tree thinning (dependant on nesting birds), shrub clearance (dependant on nesting birds), path works and litter picking.

The Bury branch of vinvolved, the national youth volunteering programme, which in run in partnership with Greater Manchester Youth Network and Bury Youth Service, will be helping to recruit young people for the event. Carran O'Grady, Prestwich Local Area Partnership Manager, said: "Drinkwater Park is a local favourite beauty spot so by volunteering to improve it and earn a ticket to a concert with international stars is a winner".
