Bury Play Network Invites Children to Design a Play Area in Feb Half Term
Date published: 17 February 2009
This February half term, children across Bury have been invited by Bury Play Network to enter a competition to design a play area for one of Bury’s parks. The competition will be held at The Met Studio in Bury on 19th and 20th February and is open to all 8-13 years olds.
The winner will receive a digital camera and the chance to work with an architect to convert their design into a play area. This is part of the Department for Children, Schools and Families’ (DCSF) Playbuilder scheme that is regenerating and creating 24 new play areas across the borough. This is a fantastic opportunity for Bury’s children to have some real input into the areas that they play in.
Community Playworkers, funded by Big Lottery, are also running free regular play sessions in areas across Bury and will be in the earlier part of the half term week, Monday to Wednesday from 11am – 3pm.
