Appeal to trace nurse after fatal rtc

Date published: 09 February 2009

Officers believe a nurse who went to the aid of a 41-year-old seriously hurt in a road traffic collision could hold vital clues about the incident.

Stuart Brown, of Grange Grove, Whitefield, died six days after he was injured in a road traffic collision.

Shortly before 8.30am on Tuesday 27 January 2009, pedestrian Stuart collided with a Toyota Yaris on Bury New Road, Whitefield.

He was taken to Fairfield Hospital suffering from severe spinal injuries and was later transferred to Hope Hospital where he died at around 5.45am on Monday 2 February 2009.

Traffic officers are now appealing for anyone who may have seen the collision to contact them and are particularly keen to hear from a nurse who went to Stuart's aid.

The woman pulled up in a Chrysler Voyager, got out, and tried to administer first aid to Stuart.

Officers now want to speak to her in detail because she may have seen what happened to Stuart.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information about the incident is asked to call the road policing unit on 0161 856 3572.
