Bury Council’s Age of Opportunities project is celebrating its Second Birthday

Age of Opportunities is celebrating its second birthday on Wednesday 18 February with a day of special events at the Elizabethan Suite at Bury Town Hall.
This fun filled day is going to be packed with a Nintendo Wii demonstration, a wide variety of information stalls from organisations that have Age of Opportunities schemes such as Adult Education, Libraries, Health Trainers and many more besides.
Individuals can also come along and claim their free goodie bag filled with a range of excellent promotional items and useful information.
There will also be activity taster sessions where individuals can try out new hobbies which will keep them fit and active such as the opportunity to learn gardening skills, a new language, have a go a Tai Chi or yoga or even do an art class.
There will also be a free prize draw with a chance to win a mountain bike, courtesy of Halfords in Bury; a meal for two at Automatic Lounge; a fruit and veg hamper; tickets to the MET theatre; a meal for for two at Jewel in the Crown, an Age of Opportunities branded cake and much more….
Age of Opportunities is an initiative focussing on the promotion of health, well-being and independence for the people of Bury aged 50 plus, and builds upon the national Dignity in Care and Respect agendas. It is being delivered by a range of different organisations across the borough from the public, private and third sectors.
For individuals interested in attending the event they can log on to the Bury Council website for further information and download their Invitation/ Registration card, which will give them the chance to be entered into the free prize draw.
