Power cut affected 200 homes in Bury

A power cut affected approximately 200 homes in Bury around the Fairfield Hospital area.

Bury Council's Emergency Planning Department was working alongside partners to help and support vulnerable residents in the local community whilst United Utilities work to restore the power supply.

A Bury Council spokesperson, said: "Staff from Adult Care Services are working alongside colleagues from partner agencies to help and support vulnerable residents. However, local residents are encouraged to be a good neighbour and check on any friends or relatives during this period".

The power problems which were affecting 200 homes in the area around Fairfield Hospital was resolved last night. All power was restored to properties by midnight and United Utilities have traced the source of the problem to a severed cable.
