Bury Housing Forum to promote help available during the economic downturn
Date published: 05 January 2009
The next Bury Housing Forum will be held on Thursday 22 January 2009 at the Seedfield Education Development and Training Centre, Parkinson Street (off Walmersley Road), Bury.
The event will focus on the theme of financial inclusion and will look at issues around ensuring individuals have the same access to financial products and services. In the current economic climate the council is aware that many people maybe struggling to pay their bills or are in debt and this meeting will let people know what help and support is available from the Council and it’s partners.
The programme will include presentations from a range of speakers and focus on issues such as Fuel Poverty, Loan Sharks, Worklessness and Help and Advice. There will be opportunities to ask questions and the chance to discuss what should be a priority for Bury Council in tackling Financial Inclusion. There will also be display stands and information from service providers.
Registration, including refreshments, starts at 9.30am and the presentations will start at 10.00am. The event is due to end at approximately 1.00pm
If you would like to book a place contact Melanie Barratt on 0161 253 6248 or email housing@bury.gov.uk. A map and directions to the Seedfield Centre are available on request
