26th Bury Beer Festival

Date published: 05 November 2008

Rochdale, Oldham and Bury Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale are delighted to announce that the Bury Beer Festival will return to its usual venue of “The Met”, Market Street, Bury on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th November 2008.

Commented Festival Organiser, Paul France “This year sees the town’s 26th CAMRA Beer Festival. It promises to be another fabulous event.
Bury beer festival – or BBF as it is known - has been described by visitors as - “maybe not the biggest, but certainly the friendliest of beer festivals”. This friendliness has encouraged more and more people to come and enjoy some of the best products that the Northwest and, indeed, our country have to offer.
There are about sixty different cask beers on offer, ranging from beautiful, light, hoppy beers, to rich, dark porters. As well as established local names such as Phoenix and Bank Top, we welcome Outstanding Ales, the most recent addition to the Bury brewing landscape. A variety of British ciders, perries and country fruit wines sits comfortably alongside some of Europe’s best bottled beers, so there is something for everyone to enjoy!
The quality and range of the products on offer has always been at the core of the festival’s success. BBF attracts connoisseurs, who know and love the beers, and those eager to sample these “sparkling treasures” of the brewer’s art.
Today, more people than ever are concerned about the quality of what they drink, and the Rochdale, Oldham and Bury branch of CAMRA is there to help them. Everybody working at the festival is a volunteer, but has a wealth of experience to help the newcomer make the right choice for his or her particular palate.
Past BBFs have been so successful that the hall has often filled to capacity, so be sure not to miss out!

The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) is Britain’s most successful consumer organisation with 92,000 members. The local branch has almost 700 members.
