Bury Housing Forum to discuss the needs of older people

Date published: 05 September 2008

The council’s proposed new housing strategy for older people will be up for discussion at the next Bury Housing Forum meeting on 18 September.

A number of presentations and speakers will look at issues including housing and social care provision for an ageing society; the work being carried out in the borough to modernise its services for older people; and how to develop services appropriate for future needs.

There will also be an opportunity to voice opinions, ask questions and take part in workshops. The opinions and comments gathered from this session will provide valuable contributions to the development of the new strategy. There will also be display stands and information from service providers, such as the Sheltered Housing and Care-Link Service and Age of Opportunities.

The event will take place at the Seedfield Centre on Parkinson Street, Bury. Registration for the event begins at 9.30am whilst refreshments are being served. The presentations will start at 10.00am and the event is scheduled to finish at 12.45pm.

To book a place contact Melanie Barratt on 0161 253 6248 or email housing@bury.gov.uk.
