Special Preview event for new Radcliffe Children's Centre

Date published: 19 August 2008

Coronation Road Children’s Centre, which will officially open its’ doors in early September, held a special preview evening on 31 July to preview the services which will be on offer from the new centre.

Elected members, Governors from local schools and representatives from the Local Area Partnership were able to talk to staff from the Children’s Centre team, look round the new centre and see for themselves some of the fantastic facilities it will have to offer.

The new centre on Coronation Road offers a whole host of facilities, including child and family health services, ante-natal and post-natal services, activity sessions for children, and advice and support around training and employment. This means that children and families in Radcliffe will receive an integrated service under one roof which can respond to the needs of the local community.

Staff based at the children’s centre will also take services out to other local community venues so that they reach all families who need them.

The centre will also be a base for a local childminder network. Childminders will be able to use the Centre to meet, join in activities, share good practice, train with other Centre staff and make their childcare services available for families.

Councillor Diana Ashworth, Executive Member for Children and Young People, said “The new children’s centre creates a hub for the local community as a range of services are brought together under one roof for local families and children. This is a really exciting time for the people of Radcliffe and I hope that they will pop into the centre once it is opened and see for themselves what it has to offer ”.
