FC United limber up for new season with health MOT
Date published: 12 August 2008
FC United and Bury Council’s Health Kick Project have teamed up to get football fans thinking about their health.
As part of the test players had their Body Mass Index (BMI) calculated and their Blood Pressure and Carbon Monoxide levels checked to see how healthy they actually are.
Local Residents are also being invited to have a health MOT and sign up to the Health Kick programme.
The Health Kick project runs fun yet informative workshops on all aspects of health and physical activity and participants will get the chance to gain recognised qualifications and given tickets for FC United matches.
If anyone would like an MOT health check then please come and see the Health Kick team on designated match days outside the ground.
Councillor, Beverly Sullivan, Executive Member for Health and Wellbeing, said, “ The Health Kick project is a really good way for men aged over 50 or aged between 16-24 to get fit and active. The MOT health checks can help individuals find out whether they need to take steps to improve their own health and well being and I would urge football fans going to watch FC United to take part in the project.”
