The newly opened Redvales Children’s Centre is looking for a business or community enterprise to run its community café/ snack bar.
Redvales Centre manager Sue Myers explains: "Since we opened in December last year we’ve had the facility to offer visitors to the centre refreshments in our café but we’ve had no-one to run it and we simply do not have the funding or expertise to do it ourselves. We’re looking for an organisation that can provide healthy snacks and light meals at affordable prices on a daily basis".
The café has a seating area for 24 people, with external doors opening onto an enclosed garden and patio area. The Children’s Centre also has a staff team of 40 who would be willing customers for the provision of food and snacks. The unit would cost £100 per month to cover running cost; this would be suspended for the first three months to allow the business to build up. The enterprise will receive a licence to run the café and would keep all revenue made.
