Calls for Government to Relax Tax on Entrepreneurs

Date published: 21 November 2011

RSM Tenon recognises the important role Entrepreneurs play in the UK economy and firmly believes that they are the ones who will lead this country out of recession.

Over the coming weeks and months we will be setting out a number of ideas to ignite and support the entrepreneurial market.

Today, we launch a radically different approach to the way entrepreneurs are taxed.

We’ve heard all the calls for the top rate of tax to be reduced to 40% but we think entrepreneurs may deserve an even bigger incentive. We want them to do what they do best. But here’s the difference: we want something in return. We want an Entrepreneurs Tax Credit based on the jobs they create.

We’ve done our calculations and we think that by reducing tax on entrepreneurs when they create employment the State will gain considerably. Not only will the cash saving to the Government be anything up to £10K per additional job but the society benefits by incalculable amounts.

We are so passionate about this that we have launched a petition on the Government E-petition Website. If you agree that the way to future growth is by the private sector creating jobs please get behind our campaign and sign your petition today.

This is unique. And it’s very, very important for us, for our clients and for our society.
