As Bury Rocks – show you are proud to belong!

On Friday 16 July the £350 million Rock Development on Bury open it’s doors for business. There are a wide range of events taking place at The Rock throughout the day to celebrate one of the borough’s proudest moments.

At the same time we are asking local people who live, work or study in the borough to come and sign up to the Made in Bury pledge at the Mill Gate shopping centre between 10.00am and 3.00pm.

Members of the Made in Bury team will be in Union Arcade in the Mill Gate asking shoppers to sign the pledge and say why they are proud to belong in Bury and what they will do in the coming year to help others feel that they belong too.

The Made in Bury campaign celebrates the positive aspects of the borough - the places, the people, businesses, historical figures, and experiences which have helped make the borough of Bury what it is today.

Councillor Yvonne Creswell, Cabinet Member for Communities, said: “I am proud to belong to Bury because I believe it is the jewel in the crown. It is vibrant and welcoming to all people and our residents are passionate about their borough.”


“We will be taking this campaign out across the borough in the next few months to get as many members of the community to say why they are proud to belong in Bury and the stall in the Mill Gate is just one of events we plan to hold.”
