Team Bury scooped up joint best Public Sector partnership with Stockport MBC at the Insider Property awards dinner.
The team beat Central Salford and Rochdale Development Agency to the award.
The public sector partnership was an initiative organised by members of Team Bury, including Bury College, Bury Council, NHS Bury, Police, Holycross College, and a number of the investors currently working on development projects in Bury, including Ask Developments, Property Alliance Group, Hammerson, the Mill Gate Shopping Centre.
There were three important projects which Team Bury was judged on:
- The Green at Chamberhall, a £20m Property Alliance Group Development with 92,000 sq ft of Grade A office accommodation
- Knowsley Place, an £80m Askbury, a 450,000 sq ft mixed-use development
- The Rock, a £330m Hammerson Development, with 1.6m sq ft of retail and leisure development
The awards, which were held at Manchester Central, act as a showcase for developments in the North West and serve as a social highlight in the annual property calendar.
Chair of the Local Strategic Partnership, Councillor Bob Bibby at Bury Council said: “The face of Bury Town Centre is being transformed by significant regeneration and redevelopment programmes. We are delighted to have won this award and honoured to be recognised at an event highly regarded in the region’s commercial property sector.
“This is quite a unique partnership which brings both public and private sector partners together round one table to promote a common message about Bury and support the work being carried out at the various development sites.”
Already home to an award winning market, Bury town centre will see two major developments completed in the coming months, both the £80m Askbury mixed-use Knowsley Place scheme and The Rock, a 1.6m sq ft retail, leisure and residential scheme including 400 apartments, with anchor tenants Marks and Spencer, Debenhams, and a 10-screen cinema.
