Staff from Kara Foods in a training session
Kara Foods have embarked on a training programme with Bury College Business Solutions to provide 15 members of staff with an ILM Level 3 Management qualification. The course has been offered Team Leaders and supervisory staff across the company, including quality assurance, warehouse, engineers, shift managers and operations.
Bury College Business Solutions has customised the course to the needs of Kara Foods to ensure that topics covered on the course develop staff in the areas required. Gary Bentley, Operations Manager, said, “We chose to work with Business Solutions as they are able to tailor the units to ensure the course they deliver matches our business needs. They spent a lot of time working closely with us, it was definitely a process driven approach.”
Angela Twigg, HR Manager, said, “We have already seen an improvement in individuals on the course. They complete one full day of training every two weeks enabling us to fit learning around their job responsibilities.”
Richard Coundley, Team Leader, Operations, who is currently completing the ILM Level 3 Management qualification, he said, “The course is very beneficial, you find out about yourself and its easy to apply what you have learnt straight away. It has already had a positive impact on me, I’ve found it very beneficial.”
Kara Foods have worked with Bury College Business Solutions over the past three years to up-skill staff and provide them with recognised qualifications. Previous courses undertaken by staff include; ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), NEBOSH (Health and Safety) and NVQs in Administration and Customer Care.
