The newly formed Whitefield Business Group was established in October 2008 and has a wide mix of regular attendees from the business community. The group are very keen to raise the profile of Whitefield and promote the wide range of shops/services on offer. Together with the Town Centres Team, the group are currently developing a series of promotional events and activities to boost the profile of the town further.

Changes to Housing Benefit have now come into effect from January 2012 and this will impact on people who rent from a private landlord who will see a reduction in their Housing Benefit.

A dedicated Mobile Advice Centre will be available at Radcliffe Piazza, (Radcliffe, M26 1NN) on 20th January, 9th February and 2nd March and at Kay Gardens, (Bury, BL9 0AY) on 10th February and 30th March. Our trained advisors can offer advice and support if your payments are to be reduced.

The day will include a short film, discussion on angelic influences in our lives, small group work reflecting on how we might develop the angel within, creative space, guided meditation.

Join the ranger for an 8-mile walk along the valley looking at the wildlife and how industrialisation has affected the area.

Please bring packed lunch and wear stout footwear and suitable clothing.

Radcliffe Rotary Fundraiser for Bury Hospice. A Charity concert with the world famous Besses Boys Ban and the Radcliffe Male Voice Choir. An exhibition looking at the lives of local people and how the people of Bury supported the war effort during WWII.

Step back in time with a new exhibition which brings together a wide range of photographs, postcards and memorabilia relating to Heaton Hall and park.

The Egerton family originally owned the estate and Sir Thomas Egerton, who inherited the title and estate as a seven-year-old, set about creating what is largely the park we have today at 21. Sir Thomas was eventually created 1st Earl of Wilton in 1801, becoming the first peer in the family.

The exhibition includes a number of objects connected to the family including a silver trowel used at the laying of the foundation stone for St Margaret's Sunday School and a set of antlers from a deer killed in the park. There is also a tram driver's jacket circa 1910 and objects from the Papal visit in 1982.

The park, now owned by Manchester City Council (formerly Manchester Corporation), was purchased in 1902 and opened as a public open space.

The current exhibition will run throughout 2012 and is free to view during library open hours.

The Heritage Museum was established in partnership with Bury Art Museum and Prestwich and Whitefield Heritage Society and continues to attract large numbers of visitors to its poignant exhibitions, dedicated to exploring the social culture of Prestwich past and present. The museum is supported by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund and by Prestwich Area Partnership.
