Be inspired by watching master craftsmen in action, enjoy expert demonstations of techniques for restoration and refurbishment and question our specialist panel of antiques professionals. Bring a photograph of an object that is special to you and tell us its story and how you've been inspired by what you've learnt to look after it.

Please note that there will be no opportunity for valuation of objects at this event.

Places for this event are limited and admission is by ticket only. Tickets are available from Bury Art Gallery. Refreshments will be served.

Ramsbottom’s interesting and diverse history such as spinning, quill writing, a workshop by a Lancashire dialect speaker, plus taster sessions 11.00 am to 12.00 by Bury Adult Learning demonstrating flower arranging, stained glass, patchwork and quilting, photography, calligraphy and languages.

The first week, from August 9 to 13, is titled “Alien ooze and space dust”, and gives youngsters an unmissable chance to conduct messy science experiments.

Then, from August 16 to 20, you can enter “The Next Dimension” and create an alien to challenge Doctor Who and co.

Join a short guided tour and learn more about the history of this fascinating Theatre.

A weekly classical recital by established professional and semiprofessional performers. Quality music at a sensible price of £4 payable at the door.

This will be the first concert of the new season.

Grade I listed building, originally 12th century, with medieval arch, arcades and tower. Victorian re-ordering, Kempe window. Adjacent to 15th century Radcliffe Tower - Pele Tower.

Church open to visitors from 1.30pm to 5.00pm

No admission charge - refreshments available in church.

Children's trail sheets available from The House on the Rock (the cafe, gift and bookshop inside church).

Free 30 minute guided tour of church at 2.00pm.

12.30pm to 1.30pm - Public lunchtime concert with Simon Lindley (organist at Leeds Parish Church and Leeds Town Hall and Phillip McCann (one of the country's top cornet players).

Members of the public are most welcome to attend, although there is an admission charge of £4.00.
