Cracking History Event
Be inspired by watching master craftsmen in action, enjoy expert demonstations of techniques for restoration and refurbishment and question our specialist panel of antiques professionals. Bring a photograph of an object that is special to you and tell us its story and how you've been inspired by what you've learnt to look after it.
Please note that there will be no opportunity for valuation of objects at this event.

Opening of the new Ramsbottom Heritage Gallery
Ramsbottom’s interesting and diverse history such as spinning, quill writing, a workshop by a Lancashire dialect speaker, plus taster sessions 11.00 am to 12.00 by Bury Adult Learning demonstrating flower arranging, stained glass, patchwork and quilting, photography, calligraphy and languages.

Two weeks of activities have been organised for 5-11 year-olds during this year’s Summer Reading Challenge.
The first week, from August 9 to 13, is titled “Alien ooze and space dust”, and gives youngsters an unmissable chance to conduct messy science experiments.
Then, from August 16 to 20, you can enter “The Next Dimension” and create an alien to challenge Doctor Who and co.
