The walk starts from Beacon Hill car park (no charge), just south of Frodsham, and joins the Sandstone Trail. The Iron Age hill fort of Woodhouse Hill is passed before entering Snidley Wood which has the oldest silver birch tree. The Delamere Way is joined for a while and the walk goes by Newton and the moated Peel Hall, and descends to the River Weaver at Catton Hall. The river is followed down to Newtown and then the Eddisbury Way and another section of the Delamere Way are picked up on the way back to the start. In the woods the bluebells should be in flower.
