Inspired By
Students of art classes run by the adult education service have been inspired by the Bury Art Gallery building and collections in contains. A panel of judges has looked closely at their work on the theme of 'inspired by' and the artwork that has been selected echoes the variety of collections.

A giuded walk to learn about Bury's most famous son plus a visit to the Bury Museum to view a special display of personal artefacts of the Peel family.
The walks are open to all. Participants should meet at Bury Museum Reception Desk. Walks last for approximately one hour. No need to book.

Cracking History Event
Be inspired by watching master craftsmen in action, enjoy expert demonstations of techniques for restoration and refurbishment and question our specialist panel of antiques professionals. Bring a photograph of an object that is special to you and tell us its story and how you've been inspired by what you've learnt to look after it.
Please note that there will be no opportunity for valuation of objects at this event.
Places for this event are limited and admission is by ticket only. Tickets are available from Bury Art Gallery. Refreshments will be served.

Two weeks of activities have been organised for 5-11 year-olds during this year’s Summer Reading Challenge.
The first week, from August 9 to 13, is titled “Alien ooze and space dust”, and gives youngsters an unmissable chance to conduct messy science experiments.
Then, from August 16 to 20, you can enter “The Next Dimension” and create an alien to challenge Doctor Who and co.
